Looking for a part-time job in early childhood? Seeking a welcoming, supportive, and inclusive work environment with opportunities for growth? Join the team at George Mason University’s Child Development Center. We have multiple part-time positions available in Twos, Preschool, and Pre-K. Applicants must be able to work from noon- 6 pm, Monday through Friday. Our program offers play-based, NAEYC-accredited educational experiences for children ages 2-5 years of age. We prioritize social-emotional development in support of all growth areas through open-ended, child-centered indoor and outdoor exploration.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Support the daily care and education of each child in accordance with George Mason’s CDC philosophy and values, as well as all licensing guidelines and NAEYC criteria.
• Communicate respectfully with parents to establish and maintain family partnerships in the best interest of each child.
• Help maintain a fun and interactive classroom that is clean, organized, developmentally appropriate, and engaging with the guidance of the Lead and Assistant Teachers.
• Support meal prep and cleaning.

Required qualifications:

• Experience working in a licensed childcare facility or school and/or some early childhood education or child development coursework.
• A High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
